Vin du Lac's Red Cafe Syrah
2006 Columbia Valley |
| |
Vin du Lac's Red Cafe Syrah. This year's offering includes fruit from 4 different vineyards, and was barrel-aged for 12 months in one-third new oak, split evenly between American and French oak. The moderate heat of the 2006 vintage yielded a more elegant and fruit forward syrah, while still retaining some smoky depth. Typical of Washington Syrahs, the wine evinces a very mature tannin profile, with dramatic structure and full-bodied mouth-feel, and would accompany well very rich, hearty foods.

Vin du Lac Cuvee Rouge
2007 Columbia Valley |
| |
Vin du Lac's Cuvee Rouge - Columbia Valley. This year the Cuvée returns to the Big 3 core varietals that always form its backbone: Merlot, Cab and Syrah. It is a big, ripe, full-bodied red. The structure of the wine – good acid and substantial but very ripe tannins - makes for an excellent table wine, and also ensures that this will be a great wine to cellar. The nose is a rich mélange of dark fruit and spicy French oak. The rich wine has flavors of black cherry, blackberry, licorice, and cinnamon.

Nefarious Syrah 2007
|
| |
Nefarious Syrah 2007. Rated 91 Points by Wine Advocate and 90 Points by Wine Enthusiast. Tasting Notes: Aromatically layered with licorice, saturated dark red fruit, and super ripe cherry fruit leather. This wine is really generous, dense and rich with grippy, subtly textural tannins. It's packed with flavors of deep black cherry, dark current, and a bit of earthiness. And to top it all off, just slightly floral thanks to the addition of a 5% Viognier co-ferment.

Rio Vista Winery Cabernet
|
| |
Rio Vista Winery, Cabernet. Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world's most widely recognized red wine grape varieties. Despite its prominence in the industry, the grape is a relatively new variety, the product of a chance crossing between Cabernet franc and Sauvignon blanc during the 17th century in southwestern France.
In many aspects, Cabernet Sauvignon can reflect the desires and personality of the winemaker while still presenting familiar flavors that express the typical character of the variety. The most pronounced effects are from the use of oak during production.
