Pronounced 'ga-VERTZ-trah-MEE-ner. Originally from Germany the name means Spice Grapes. The aroma is a flowery, spicy one, with aromas of roses and lychees. Our Gewurztraminer is more on the dry side and less sweet as many others, which in our opinion, makes it much more enjoyable!

Off dry, rich and fruitful, this wine exemplifies Vin du Lac's bold wine styling. Residual sweetness in premium Sauvignon Blanc is somewhat unusual, but here the hint of sweetness enlivens and lifts the ripe pear and melon flavors typical of Washingtion Sauvignon Blanc, and brings out more citrus and tropical notes. Savvy wine drinkers know a good thing when they taste it, and will recognize this as a premium, delightful, and very hip wine.

Riesling (75%), Muscat (20%), & Gewurztraminer (5%). Off dry, rich and aromatic, this wine showcases the innovative wine styling that epitomizes Vin du Lac. Riesling blends are rare, indeed almost sacrilege, but here these friends compliment each other wonderfully. Together they make a wine for sharing. Delightful enough for simply sipping, yet refined enough for dinner--it's a wine that must always be enjoyed with friends.

This wine contains the classic aroma & flavor profile of peach, apricot & fruit tree blossoms while showing crispness and mouthfilling richness.

Grisant means Exhilarating! Heady! Which describes this wine perfectly. Grisant! is ripe, rich and full bodied, with mingling aromas of grapefruit, pear and melon, yet it has a crisp, dry finish. It's great with seafood or to share with friends after a Grisant! kind of day.

 

 

Brilliant pale straw in color with delicate lime and spice notes on the nose.  While considerably sweeter than its dry counterpart, the natural high level of acidity from the cool 2007 vintage balances the residual sugar making the wine appear almost dry.  Tangy lemon and jasmine on the finish making it a great match for sweeter seafood such as scallops, lobster, or prawns.

Gorgeous and complex aromas and flavors are rich and full of Granny Smith apple, crisp citrus fruits and a creamy vanilla extract finish. Dry and full of luxurious texture allows this wine to pair with a variety of food! Some of our favorites are lime and cilantro zesty pork, Thai food or a classic fruit and cheese plate.

Vibrant, full bodied and very fragrant! Pretty floral notes enhance the pineapple, and stone fruit aromas and flavors that make this wine so fun! Flavors of peach, apricot, nectarine and a touch of tropical spice leave a long finish on the palate. Pair with chicken, grilled scallops, cold salmon and cheese fondue. The harmony of flavors created by blending Pinot Grigio and Gewurztraminer is delightful. Flavors are tropical with fresh green apple, pear, and spric. Refreshing and unique, this off-dry white is an easy wine with a soft finish. Serve slightly chilled.

The color is a delicious straw-light golden hue. The flavors echo the aromas. They include; ripe peaches, summer apples, Meyer lemons, a very light touch of vanilla and barrel toast plus juicy ripe nectarines. The body is medium to medium-plus. The wine’s mouth feel is very smooth. Our 2006 Viognier’s structure lends itself to pairing beautifully with shellfish and poultry entrees served with light cream sauces or, all by itself after a day on beautiful Lake Chelan! A solid four to six years of cellar potential exist yet with this wonderful wine.

The color is pale straw. The aroma and flavor presentation includes rich toasted oak, ripe pears, hazelnuts, butterscotch, and sweet vanilla bean. The body is medium plus and luscious. Our 2008 Chardonnay would be a perfect companion with pasta, seafood, and poultry. Look for this wine to age respectfully for a solid 5-6 years.

The most popular wine in the world is Chardonnay and Rio Vista's has a unique character. This Chardonnay was born of grapes exposed to the warm south-eastern sunlight lovingly hand tended until perfectly ripe with a promise of excellence. Unoaked, the wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks resulting in a bright golden color, not too dry with the distinctive flavors of pear, autumn apples and citrus -- a liquid treasure.

The color is that of light straw. This Gewurztraminer has classic German cool climate aromas and flavors. Namely, fabulous spice, ripe stone fruits and a dash of rose petal. This wine, though sweet, is still firm on the palate.
