Welcome to our Blog at CulinaryApple.com! Dave and JoAnne update the blog every week with news from the Chelan Valley, as well as news from our store. We'll test products and report to you on how they work for us, and we'll keep you updated on any special sales and new items that we get in.

I have to share this story with all of you. Kathy and I were working together last week, and a gentleman came in who was looking for a specific gadget for pie making. He told us that he is the pie maker in his family and the thing that the one thing that turned around his ability to make beautiful pies every time is the pastry bag. In fact, he sold Kathy on one that very day!  He said you don't have to worry about the dough sticking to the counter, and when you're done rolling out the perfect circle, just unzip the bag completely to turn the crust out into your pie pan. He couldn't say enough about it, and recommends one for every pie maker. We have lots of baking accessories on our website, if you're interested in checking out our pie crust bag, click this link: http://culinaryapple.com/pie_crust_bag.asp. We have a larger size in the store that is suitable for deep dish pie plates, give us a call if you want information on that one (509-682-3618).

Wow, what a weekend! We really exploded into July with great fireworks downtown, and lots of visitors to the store. Lars and I got to work together on Sunday, and we had a lot of fun. Could we work together every day the way Dave and Mary do? The jury is still out on that one.

I have to tell you that I have recently tried the Wine Finer by Nuance. If you enjoy drinking wine, this really is a great tool. When we have a bottle, we usually open it and let it breathe, but if we forget we just go ahead and drink it anyway. I knew it made a difference, but usually I just couldn't be bothered. The cool thing about the Wine Finer is that you just pop it in the bottle and pour. The wine aerates as you pour, and it really makes a huge difference! I couldn't believe how much more I liked my favorite wine! Anyway, I'm sold on this one, and as an added bonus it also works as a filter, pourer and stopper. Check it out online: Wine Finer .

The Street Fair is this weekend, and with such beautiful weather I'm sure it will be the hottest place in town. If you come downtown for the festivities, make sure to stop in the store to say hello and have a taste of fudge. Dave's been busy making all your favorite flavors this week, so our fudge cabinet is FULL--we even have Penuchi!!

Well, as you may know by now, the Chelan Wine Region has received the AVA designation. This means the Chelan Valley is now recognized for the unique growing conditions in our area, and the wonderful wines our wineries area able produce. This designation affects the whole area with an increase in interest in what Chelan and Manson have to offer. In fact, this weekend King 5's Evening Magazine crew will be in Chelan to see these wineries and the shops in the area. We expect to see them Friday and Saturday in downtown Chelan, we'll keep you posted on when the story will air on the news. How exciting!!
