Culinary Apple Year in Review

2018 has been a big year for us! We've had some new members join our team, new fudge flavors have been tested, our website has grown and we've added more and more people to our Rewards Program. We thought it would be fun to pick out some of the highlights of our year!

As of today, we have 5,382 Rewards Members. We couldn't be more excited to know that this many people love our store, and want to be part of the experience we try to create. So, thank you!!

Speaking of Rewards Members, one of the benefits of joining the club is that we offer a $25 certificate to you each time you spend $250. This can accumulate over time, and they never expire. Each full priced purchase goes toward achieving that goal. In 2018, we gave out 608 $25 certificates! That's $15,200!!

We have 2 big events each year: Our Anniversary Sale in June and our Holiday Open House in December. At each of these, we give away a lot of prizes. This year, we gave away well over $5,000 in gifts to those that came to participate! We have to take a minute to thank our vendors for their generosity in providing all these great prizes. 

We are known for Papa Dave's homemade fudge, and this year we've made over 3,500 lbs. The #1 fudge flavor is chocolate walnut by a landslide.

We have a rotating cast of characters that stand outside our door throughout the year. The Scarecrow makes an appearance in the fall, the Snowman comes out as winter hits, and Mosey the Moose celebrates the holiday season with us. We followed Mosey's journey back to the store for the holidays on Facebook and Instagram, and he is our #1 Spokes Moose of the year!

Every once in a while we share a favorite recipe in our blogs. Mary's Apple Kale Salad recipe is once again the #1 most talked about and shared recipe of the year. If you haven't tried it, you should! The secret ingredient is the Bianco Balsamic Vinegar...

Our annual knife sale in October was a huge success, and we're already looking forward to an even bigger event next year. Our #1 selling knife was the Wusthof 6" Cook's Knife. This happened to be their knife of the year, and the special value encouraged customers to try it. Stay tuned for the announcement of the 2019 Knife of the Year - we usually find out in February, and we'll let you know!

And the award for the Best Team goes to this crew! We are so lucky to have each and ever one of them on our team. We're so happy to call them part of our family!
